It's finally Saturday. Not much on tap for today other than doing some thank you's for the wedding and doing a little more digging on finding a good deal for the honeymoon.
Last night was a fun night. A halloween get together with the wife's teacher friends and I got to carve my very first pumpkin. It came out pretty good, but I wish I would have had a more creative design. Oh well, like I said, not too shabby for the first time.
Then it was back home and off to the 810 zone, my favorite sports bar ever. They literally have TV's everywhere, and the food has always been excellent. I definitely recommend this bar to anyone. A few beers and then it was back home to the beautiful beagles, who slept on the bed last night in all sorts of annoying configurations. Nothing like waking up at 4 am spread eagle with one leg hanging off the bed and one leg in the wife's back with beagles sprawled out in between. It's a good thing I love them!
Of course the best thing about Saturdays is college football. Some games of interest for me are:
Iowa St. vs. Missouri - I think MU definitely should win this game, but their defense scares me. Iowa St. will be able to throw the ball on MU just like everyone else has all season long, so that will be the key to the game. It will probably be a shootout, but I'll say MU takes this one 38-28.
USC vs. Notre Dame - Notre Dame is probably my second favorite team and Charlie Weis has done a heck of a job with these guys, but come on. They aren't going to beat USC. I think it could be a close game, but ND just doesn't have the horses to hang with the Trojans (haha). I think the Irish keep it close early, maybe even taking the lead for awhile, but Southern Cal puts them away in the second half for a final of 42-17.
Texas vs. Colorado - This is without question the Big XII game of the week. Colorado has looked really good in their games this year, with their only loss (I think) coming to Miami. But Texas is just too good this year. They've pretty much manhandled everyone they've come up against and they'll be too much for the Buffs today. Texas 49 Colorado 14.
