Almost Humpday
Well it was quite a weekend and I forgot to post the last couple of days. MU and the Chiefs eeked out wins so it was a pretty good weekend overall. I finally have a plan to pay off the mountains I have accumulated. It will take awhile, but with careful planning we should have no problem taking care of things. Not too much going on other than that, so it should be a pretty easy night in front of the boob tube.

Finally to the Weekend
It's finally Saturday. Not much on tap for today other than doing some thank you's for the wedding and doing a little more digging on finding a good deal for the honeymoon.
Last night was a fun night. A halloween get together with the wife's teacher friends and I got to carve my very first pumpkin. It came out pretty good, but I wish I would have had a more creative design. Oh well, like I said, not too shabby for the first time.
Then it was back home and off to the 810 zone, my favorite sports bar ever. They literally have TV's everywhere, and the food has always been excellent. I definitely recommend this bar to anyone. A few beers and then it was back home to the beautiful beagles, who slept on the bed last night in all sorts of annoying configurations. Nothing like waking up at 4 am spread eagle with one leg hanging off the bed and one leg in the wife's back with beagles sprawled out in between. It's a good thing I love them!
Of course the best thing about Saturdays is college football. Some games of interest for me are:
Iowa St. vs. Missouri - I think MU definitely should win this game, but their defense scares me. Iowa St. will be able to throw the ball on MU just like everyone else has all season long, so that will be the key to the game. It will probably be a shootout, but I'll say MU takes this one 38-28.
USC vs. Notre Dame - Notre Dame is probably my second favorite team and Charlie Weis has done a heck of a job with these guys, but come on. They aren't going to beat USC. I think it could be a close game, but ND just doesn't have the horses to hang with the Trojans (haha). I think the Irish keep it close early, maybe even taking the lead for awhile, but Southern Cal puts them away in the second half for a final of 42-17.
Texas vs. Colorado - This is without question the Big XII game of the week. Colorado has looked really good in their games this year, with their only loss (I think) coming to Miami. But Texas is just too good this year. They've pretty much manhandled everyone they've come up against and they'll be too much for the Buffs today. Texas 49 Colorado 14.

Big Wednesday
Quick notes for a Wednesday evening....
1. I love you Angela! You are such a dork, you can't even program the answering machine without being annoying!
2. I think college basketball is just around the corner, but with all the football going on, who knows?
3. Lots of talk on the radio about a downtown baseball stadium lately. I could not be more in favor of this. Why put more money into the K when you can build a brand new stadium downtown for basically the same price. At least that's what they say. It would be a huge source of income for downtown but the area around the Truman Sports Complex is dead anyway, so what good would that do? Oh, and I would have a view of homeplate from my cube, what is better than that?
Time for bed!

10/11/05
Slow night, but there were some highlights...
It's Tuesday, so that means it's a pretty solid TV night. A quick recap...
Amazing Race, Family Edition - I'm liking this show more and more...of course I've never seen any of the previous seasons, but it's definitely making me feel like I've been missing out. Really good concept for the show even if some of the people are pretty annoying.
My Name is Earl - Very solid show, one of the few decent new shows out there. I like Jason Lee a lot and he fits the character of Earl pretty well. Tonight's show was pretty stupid, but somewhat true to life and it definitely made me laugh out loud.
The Office - This is quickly becoming one of my favorites and it's really coming into its own. The show isn't quite as awkward feeling as it was last year and I hope it picks up a decent following because it would be a shame if it didn't stick around for a few seasons.
Real World - No drinking on the show tonight (that's a first). Just bitching and backstabbing. At least they didn't deviate from the norm too much.
Law and Order SVU - Great, great show, but not enough time to watch it tonight. Waiting patiently in the DVR.

Hopefully less than a week until I get the damn cast off.
